Nuno Correia brings “new blood” to Gafanha

Nuno Correia is the new face at the helm of Grupo Desportiva da Gafanha, after being elected, at the end of last month, chairman of the board, succeeding Dinis Gandarinho, who assumes the presidency of the General Assembly and replaces Luís Leitão as the club's highest body. In the main hall of the Gafanha da Nazaré Parish Council, where the inauguration ceremony took place yesterday, the leader spoke of the “pride and spirit of mission” of the new social bodies and called for the “unity of all” Gafanha residents to achieve the goals of a “project with great potential”.
Nuno Correia highlighted some objectives from the programme he presented when he ran for Gafanha leader. He began by modernising the management model – sporting, operational and financial – which he considers to be “very important for the club’s future”. “Involving the club with its members and the community” is another of the president’s aims, who intends to create “greater involvement with public entities, which are essential to boosting the club”.
